In the last few weeks, several parents have asked us about reading evaluations. To help out, anyone who signs up for our mailing list at www.reading2008.com can download chapter 5 of our book, Reading Disabilities: Beating the Odds. The chapter, Using Reading Evaluations, shows parents and teachers how they can use reading evaluations to help children. We encourage parents and teachers to download it, read it, discuss it, and share it with other parents and teachers. (The release is for private use only, not for commercial use or for making more than 3 copies.)

If you quote the chapter, please use this reference: Margolis, H., & Brannigan, G. G. (2009). Reading disabilities: Beating the odds. Voorhees, NJ: Reading2008 & Beyond (www.reading2008.com).

All the best,
Howard Margolis, Ed.D.
Gary G. Brannigan, Ph.D.

    Love ya!

  3. For those of you unfamiliar with Emerson Dickman, here are three important facts about him. (1) He’s an outstanding special education attorney (northern NJ) who understands and practices problem solving. He knows how to get services for children while building effective teams to help them. (2) He’s past president of the International Dyslexia Association. He not only knows a great deal about law, but a great deal about reading. (3) He cares about people–all people. — Howard Margolis
